LTTE should lay down arms before talks- Tyronne
Bandula Jayasekara in Colombo, SLT 7. 20 p.m Saturday 15 December. Sri Lankas new minister of foreign affairs Tyronne Fernando said that LTTE should lay down arms before coming in to talks and that his government request other countries to pressurize the LTTE to enter in to peace talks. Speaking to a private television channel today Fernando added that United National Front government wants Norway to continue with their role in trying to bring the LTTE to the negotiating table. Fernando said that his government is committed to maintain the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country . He thanked the people of Sri Lanka for rejecting the lies of the Peoples Alliance. Fernando said that the UNP had no pact with the LTTE.
