No clue of Ratwatte sons says DIG
Saroj Pathirana in London, Thursday 31/01/02 1930 GMT. The authorities have no clue on the whereabouts of the Lohan and Chanuka Ratwatte, a senior police officer said. Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) H.M.S.B.Kotakdeniya also said that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is not searching for Nihal Karunarathne, Director of the Presidential security Division (PSD), as they believe that the senior official will keep his promise to surrender. Teldeniya magistrate issued a warrant to arrest the PSD chief on charges of threatening another police official. Lohan and Chanuka, sons of former Deputy Defense Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte, too wanted in connection with the mass murder in Palletalawinna where ten Muslims were massacred allegedly by servicemen, missing since the general elections.

"We do not know where they are. We will arrest them as soon as we find them" Mr. Kotakadeniya, who is tipped to be the next Inspector General of Police, told BBC’s Sandeshaya.

However on earlier occasions, even people like High Court Judge Mahanama Thilakarathne have been bundled into the police cells on warrant obtained fraudulently. A journalist quipped "if it was somebody brewing Kassippu, by this time he would have been kicked into the police jeep".
