Differences with Govt. narrowing down: LTTE
The Hindu NUS, Colombo, Feb. 13 (PTI). The LTTE says only a few outstanding issues remain to be sorted out before it can sign an agreement for an indefinite truce with the Sri Lankan Government. Its London-based negotiator Anton Balasingham told a Tamil daily here that differences persisted only with regard to the proposal for allowing freedom of movement to unarmed rebels in army- controlled areas and the complete removal of all restrictions on fishing off the northern coast. Balasingham's remarks followed yet another meeting with Norwegian peace facilitators, headed by deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgesen, in London yesterday. More...
