Singapore assures investment in Sri Lanka

Prime Minister of Singapore Goe Tok Chong has pledged large scale investment in Sri Lanka. His assurance came as Sri Lankan Prime Mnister Ranil Wickramasinghe discussed possible economic assistance from Singapore in order to bring the badly deteriorated economy of the war-torn country. Singaporean PM has said in very strong terms that Singaporean investors would only come forward to invest in Sri Lanka provided that the peace is restored. Mr. Wickramasinghe is on a official visit to Singapore with a team of officials of BOI and also held talks with the leading Singaporean entrepreneurs and other officials, Chulawansa Srilal, Editor of Lanka Press told BBC's Sandeshaya.
