LTTE has brought in long-range guns - army
Gulf-News, 27 February 2002. New evidence that the rebel Tamil Tigers (LTTE) had unloa-ded long-distance artillery wea-ponry recently was discussed by Sri Lanka's military establishment in the light of last weekend's ceasefire agreement between the government and the rebels coming into force. Gulf News learns that military intelligence believe that the Liberation Tigers for Tamil Eelam rebels had beached some 130 mm artillery shells "recently", and fear that long-range gun barrels have also been brought ashore.
