LTTE steals fish and tackle from Indian fishermen
Frederica Jansz in Colombo, 8 a.m. SLT Monday March 11. Some Indian fishermen from Rameshwaran have complained to the authorities that on Saturday (March 9, 2002) they had been accosted by armed cadre of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and their catch as well as their tackle taken.

The Fishermen allege the incident had taken place just outside the territorial waters of Sri Lanka at Rameshwaran - India. They claim that ever since a permanent ceasefire was implemented between the Lankan government and the Tamil Tigers, they have faced constant harassment from the LTTE.
