Canadian Secretary of State for Asia to visit Lanka
Ranmali Wijesuriya in Colombo, SLT 9.30 a.m Friday 22 March. Canada's Secretary of State for Asia and Pacific, David Kilgour, MP will be on an official visit to Sri Lanka from March 25th to 28th. Kilgour is a federal MP and is essentially a deputy foreign minister. Kilgour is the highest ranking Canadian official to visit Sri Lanka since 1995. David Kilgour's Edmonton riding in Canada has a large and influential Tamil community. Kilgour is known to have a clear understanding of the Sri Lankan situation. He is recognised as a strong supporter of Sri Lanka.
