COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - (AP) Sri Lanka's president and Norway's foreign minister held constructive talks Friday about the distribution of aid in the tsunami-battered nation and efforts to revive the stalled peace process with Tamil Tiger rebels, an official said. Foreign Minister Jan Petersen arrived in Sri Lanka on Thursday. On Saturday, he is to travel to the rebel stronghold of Kilinochchi to meet guerrilla leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. On Friday, Petersen met President Chandrika Kumaratunga, said Harim Peiris, the leader's spokesman. ``The meeting was very constructive. The whole issue of relief and rehabilitation was discussed,'' he said, but declined to give details. ``The peace process was discussed.'' Efforts to secure a permanent peace deal stalled in 2003 because of disagreements over rebel demands for autonomy. The distribution of aid following the Dec. 26 tsunami, which killed at least 31,000 people in Sri Lanka, has also led to disputes, with the insurgents claiming disruptions in government aid reaching areas under their control.
