Pak-Sri Lanka to boost bilateral trade to one billion dollars - Associated Press of Pakistan

Mandviwalla on Saturday termed the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Sri Lanka very successful and said that both the countries would boost bilateral trade from existing US $ 300 million to $ one billion in near future.According to a statement of the BOI issued here, Saleem H.Mandviwalla visited Srilanka with the President to finalize the possibility of enhanced commercial and economic cooperation and the potential oftwo-way investments between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.On return from his successful visit to Srilanka, Chairman BoI said that Srilanka is keen to learn the agricultural techniques from Pakistan to increase the capacity of its agricultural land. Disappointment at LLRC at Trinco
BBC news, Dec 5, 2010. Proceeding of Learnt Lessons and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) should be transparent if it was meant to bring about national unity,some disappointed members of the public in Trincomalee have said.

The LLRC began its sessions in Trincomalee on Friday.

President of the Association of Parents of the Disappearances and Abductions, S.Devi told the commission that although she appreciated the opportunity to present her grievances many citizens in the Trincomalee District did not want to come to the Commission as they were not aware of the role of the commission. Sri Lanka police raid brothel in Colombo - Zee News
google.com, 2010-12-04 16:13:36 EST. Colombo: Sri Lanka's police on Saturday raided a brothel operating out of a luxury condominium located at a short distance from President's official residence here and arrested five women, including two foreigners, in this connection.

Police said they have arrested two East European and three Sri Lankan women who are said to have been working at the brothel which operated out of the eight floor of the Liberty Plaza shopping and apartment complex.

Police said the owner had made structural changes to the eighth floor of the apartment and established a secret staircase leading to another apartment on the seventh floor where action took place. More...Discuss this story
